Inclusive Health Care and Primary Medical Care
In 1978, the International Conference on Primary Health Care established the "Alma-Ata Declaration," introducing the concept of "Primary Health Care" as a fundamental approach and strategy to achieve the goal of "Health for All by the Year 2000." As the 21st century unfolded, the importance of preventive measures, health education, environmental protection, and other principles within primary healthcare became increasingly apparent in addressing challenges such as urbanization, chronic diseases, and non-communicable ailments. However, there continues to be a significant disparity between primary healthcare facilities and larger hospitals, particularly in terms of infrastructure and levels of medical care. Some community medical institutions lack proper hardware, possess outdated equipment, and may even be situated in unfavorable external environments, thereby affecting residents' confidence in seeking medical care. Additionally, many community healthcare institutions have limited service offerings and low technical proficiency, with a widespread scarcity of general practitioners and specialized professionals. Across most nations, primary healthcare serves as patients' initial point of care, constituting a population-based health service and offering continuous healthcare support. This encompasses the treatment of chronic and elderly patients, including those requiring home care and palliative treatment.
In response, Macao Scientific Publishers (MOSP) has undertaken a vital social responsibility, which involves the dissemination and popularization of knowledge related to grassroots healthcare. This initiative is driven by an unwavering commitment to heightening awareness about the crucial role of primary healthcare, reinforcing its foundation, and harnessing substantial preventive outcomes in the propagation of diseases, thereby reducing healthcare expenditures. MOSP will organize a multitude of seminars and conferences to promote knowledge about primary healthcare, enabling a wider audience to gain insights into these essential aspects. Simultaneously, in collaboration with various sectors of society, we are pooling resources to enhance the standard of primary healthcare and realize an all-encompassing development of this sector.

Basic Research Requires Some Patience
Basic research serves as the cornerstone of a nation's scientific and technological development. The monumental inventions and innovations throughout history have invariably been rooted in the deep foundations of the respective fields. From the utilization of steam engines to the widespread application of alternating current, the fundamental research in dynamics and electromagnetism within physics has been instrumental. The amalgamation of chemistry, materials science, and physics paved the way for the industrial production of large-scale integrated circuits. In contemporary life, the extensive utilization of nuclear energy as a clean source also owes much to the profound research conducted by scientists in the field of atomic physics. It can be asserted that without the foundational research of the past two centuries, the material underpinning of modern industrial society would not exist. In the realm of basic research, young researchers are often more likely to achieve groundbreaking and pioneering results. Looking back at modern history, numerous eminent scientists made revolutionary and pioneering accomplishments at a young age. For instance, Einstein formulated the theory of special relativity at the age of 26, while Heisenberg established matrix mechanics and introduced the uncertainty principle and matrix theory at 24. This correlation between the youthful vigor of thought, limited inhibition by conservative ideas, and the readiness to transcend old paradigms is evident. Basic research necessitates exploratory thinking and abundant creativity.
Therefore, MOSP encourages more young individuals to engage in fundamental scientific research to prevent the loss of talent in foundational fields. On one hand, MOSP offers research and development services to young scientists, providing platforms for specialized journals to be published and advocating for research platforms across various industries to open up to young scientists. On the other hand, in collaboration with teams from diverse sectors, MOSP establishes a stable and conducive research environment for young scientists, catering to their life and research needs. This collaborative effort ensures that young scientists can patiently work towards achieving substantial and enduring outcomes.
