Shanshan Dong, Dong Shanshan (b. 1985) is a doctoral candidate in International Relations at the ChineseAcademy of Social Sciences (CASS), under the "Marxist Backbone Talent Program" of theCASS School of Marxism, She holds a master's degree in International Relations from NanjingUniversity, Previously, she has worked at Xinhuanet's Sichuan branch and the China Universityof Petroleum (Beijing) at Karamay, and served as a part-time consultant for Beijing WeizhijieInternational Security Group, specializing in security risk assessments for countries along theBelt and Road Initiative. Her main research interests include China's foreign policy and strategy,globalization and global governance, and Sino-American relations. She has published articles injournals such as World Economy and Politics Forum, International Review, American Studies,Anbound Think Tank Studies, Urban and Regional Planning, International Economy and GlobalGovernance, as well as in media outlets like People's Daily Online and China.org.cn.
