2. Acceptable Article Types

This journal accepts manuscripts in the following format types:

  • Review: Provide systematic syntheses, critical evaluations, and forward-looking analyses of existing research in public health and epidemiology. These articles aim to consolidate current knowledge on both communicable and non-communicable diseases, assess methodological advances, and identify emerging research priorities. By offering comprehensive perspectives on established and evolving topics—such as novel epidemiological concepts, causal inference, and the application of new technologies in field studies—review articles seek to stimulate scholarly discussion and inform future research agendas.
  • Research Article: Present original scientific findings, innovative methodological approaches, or substantial applied research derived from epidemiological investigations, health services research, or intervention trials. Emphasizing originality, methodological rigor, and ethical standards, these articles contribute to the core domains of epidemiology, biostatistics, and interdisciplinary public health. Submissions should clearly describe study design, methods, and results, demonstrating robust scientific validity and meaningful implications for health improvement, policy development, or clinical practice.
  • Case Report: Document and analyze real-world public health practices, including intervention programs, surveillance system implementations, outbreak investigations, and policy applications. Through detailed examination, these articles distill practical lessons, evaluate the effectiveness of strategies or technologies, and provide evidence-based guidance for addressing similar public health challenges. Case studies emphasize the translation of research into practice and are valued for their applicability and relevance to a broad range of health professionals.
  • Editorial: Provide perspectives, insights, and commentary from the editorial team or invited experts on issues of broad relevance to public health and epidemiology. Editorials may address emerging research themes, policy implications, methodological debates, or the strategic direction of the journal. Typically concise and authoritative, they aim to contextualize current developments, highlight key contributions within an issue, and stimulate scholarly reflection and discussion. Editorials are usually commissioned by the Editors and are not subject to external peer review.
  • Short Communications: Report concise and timely research findings, preliminary results, or methodological notes that are of clear relevance to public health and epidemiology. These submissions focus on rapid dissemination of important insights, emerging data, or novel observations that may not yet warrant a full-length article. While shorter in length, Short Communications are expected to maintain scientific rigor, methodological transparency, and ethical standards, and to provide clear implications for research, policy, or practice.
