1 Foreword

1.1 Research Background

Water resources are the basis of human survival and development, and are an important part of the ecosystem. However, the problem of insufficient water supply is growing worldwide, especially due to the increase of population growth, industrialization and urbanization, leading to the prevalence of water waste, pollution and overexploitation.

Household water use is an indispensable part of daily life, but according to statistics, many families have a waste and unreasonable phenomenon in water use. Therefore, improving household water efficiency and reducing waste is one of the keys to protecting water resources and realizing sustainable development.

The survey shows that the main consumption of household water is in bathing, toilet washing, kitchen water and laundry. Families can install water-saving equipment, such as water-saving sprinkling, faucets, optimize water habits, avoid water leakage and overuse, effectively reduce daily water consumption and improve water efficiency.

In addition, the government should actively promote the formulation and implementation of water resources management regulations, increase the publicity and education of water use efficiency, encourage families to take various measures to save water, and jointly participate in the protection of water resources action [1].

The improvement of household water efficiency is not only the improvement of personal quality of life, but also the contribution to the rational utilization and sustainable development of water resources. Every family should be aware of the impact of their water behavior on the environment, start from small things, and contribute to water protection and management.

1.2 Research Significance

This study has important practical implications and social implications for improving household water efficiency and promoting water conservation and management [2]. With the increasing shortage of global water resources, how to effectively manage and save water resources has become the focus of the whole society. The improvement of household water efficiency can not only reduce waste and save water resources, but also reduce the household water fee expenditure.

Through the investigation of the household water use situation, we can understand the water use habits and behaviors of different families, find out the waste phenomenon existing in the water use, and put forward the corresponding optimization scheme. For example, unnecessary water consumption can be reduced by installing water-saving appliances, repairing leaky pipes, and changing bathing habits. These measures will not only save water costs for families, but also reduce the over-exploitation of water resources, protect the water environment, and maintain the ecological balance.

Improving household water efficiency will also have a positive impact on society as a whole. With the acceleration of urbanization and the increase of population, the demand for urban water is increasing, while the supply of water resources is limited to some extent. Improving the efficiency of household water use can effectively reduce the pressure of urban water use, ensure the safety of urban water use, and contribute to the sustainable development of society.

Therefore, in this study by investigating household water use and proposing the corresponding optimization scheme, the study aims to guide families to develop good habits of water conservation, promote the whole society to form the concept of water conservation and water protection, and promote the sustainable utilization and management of water resources.

2 Survey and Analysis of Household Water Use Efficiency

2.1 Investigation of Household Water Use Situation

According to a survey of 100 households, an average household uses 150 litres of water per day. Among them, bathing, laundry and dishwashing dishes are the three main consumption scenarios of domestic water, accounting for 30%, 25% and 20%, respectively. Leakage problem is also a common situation, more than 60% of families reflect varying degrees of leakage phenomenon.

The survey also found that more than 80 percent of households did not have water-saving devices, such as water-saving shower heads and energy-saving washing machines. In terms of water use behavior, more than 70 percent of families said they wasted water in the light use of water, such as washing and washing vegetables.

It is worth noting that although the vast majority of families surveyed expressed concern about water protection, there was a lack of corresponding measures in practical action. More than 50 percent of households say they do not know how to effectively reduce household water consumption, and more than 30 percent of households think water is not short, so they do not care about saving water.

Comprehensive analysis of the above results, in order to improve the household water efficiency, it is necessary to strengthen the popularization and guidance of water-saving awareness, pay more attention to the installation of water-saving devices, and improve the household water behavior habits. Through these efforts, household water consumption can be effectively reduced, resulting in better protection and management of precious water resources.

2.2 Analysis of Household Water Use Efficiency

According to the survey data, household water efficiency is generally low, there is a large problem of water waste [3]. In family life, bathing, washing, toilet washing and other water use behaviors are the main water use scenarios, and the waste phenomenon existing in these behaviors is more serious.

Many families are used to running the tap to wait for the water temperature to rise, which leads to a lot of cold water being wasted. Improper use of household appliances, such as washing machines and dishwashers, can also increase water consumption. Water leakage phenomenon in some old buildings will also cause the waste of water resources. The aging and damage of water pipes in the home is also one of the causes of waste.

In order to improve the household water efficiency, we can start from the following aspects: first, family members cultivate the awareness of water conservation, rationally use home appliances and equipment, improve water utilization rate; second, timely maintain pipeline water leakage, install water-saving appliances to reduce waste; third, check the water facilities regularly to ensure normal operation and reduce water waste [4].

Through the implementation of the above measures, households can improve the water efficiency, reduce the waste of water resources, and contribute to the protection and management of water resources. Every family should start from itself, realize the value of water resources, and take active actions to jointly protect our water resources.

3 Household Water Use Efficiency Optimization Scheme

3.1 Introduction of Household Water Use Optimization Technology

In the investigation and optimization scheme of domestic water efficiency, domestic water optimization technology is crucial. By adopting advanced technologies and strategies, it can effectively reduce household water consumption, save water resources and reduce water costs.

A common household water optimization technique is the installation of water-saving devices, such as low-flow shower heads and water-saving toilets. These devices can reduce household water consumption without compromising the water use experience. In addition, regular inspection and repair of leaking pipes is also a very important measure [5].

In addition, the application of mathematical models also plays a key role in the optimization of household water use efficiency. Among them, the prediction model of household water consumption can help households to arrange their water consumption plan reasonably and avoid waste. A common prediction model for household water consumption is:

Through this simple model, households can adjust the basic water consumption and per capita water consumption according to the actual situation, so as to achieve the reasonable control and optimization of water consumption.

3.2 Design of Household Water Use Efficiency Improvement Scheme

Figure 1: Design of household water use efficiency improvement scheme

In the protection and management of water resources, the design of household water efficiency plays a vital role [6]. In order to better achieve the goal of water saving, we need to take a series of measures to help households improve water efficiency. Water consumption can be reduced by installing water-saving appliances such as low-flow toilets, shower heads and taps. By repairing the water leakage problem in the home, it can effectively prevent the waste of water resources. Reasonable arrangement of domestic water time, such as the selection of appropriate watering time, limit the bath time, is also an effective way to improve water efficiency. The promotion of household sewage recycling system is also an important measure, which can effectively reduce the use of tap water. The water-saving awareness education of family members is also indispensable. Through publicity and education activities, the water-saving awareness of the whole family is improved and the behavior of water use more reasonable. Through the implementation of the above series of measures, the efficiency of household water use will be effectively improved, so as to better achieve the goal of water resources protection and management.

4 Water Resources Protection and Management Measures

4.1 Introduction of Water Resources Protection Policies

As global warming and urbanization accelerate, the conservation and management of water resources have become particularly important. Since the implementation of the Action Plan for Water Pollution Prevention and Control in 2011, China has gradually launched a series of water resources protection policies [7]. Among them, the improvement of household water use efficiency has always been one of the important contents of the policy.

Household water efficiency is not only related to the quality of individual life, but also directly related to the national water resource conservation and environmental protection. The government's management of household water use efficiency mainly includes the formulation of strict water use standards and quotas, the promotion of water resources conservation technologies and equipment, and the strengthening of measures of household water use management. In urban residential areas, the penetration rate of water meters has reached more than 90%, and the water consumption of residents has been intelligently monitored and controlled.

The government also promotes residents' awareness of water conservation by holding water resources conservation publicity activities and conducting research on household water use efficiency [8]. Through the implementation of these measures, China's domestic water use efficiency has been continuously improved, and the waste of water resources has been effectively contained.

The implementation of the optimization program also needs the active participation and support of the majority of residents. Every family can start from the daily life, such as repairing water leakage equipment, using water-saving appliances, reasonable arrangement of household water time and so on. Only with the joint efforts of the government, enterprises and residents can substantial progress be made in the rational utilization and protection of water resources.

Table 1: Household water use efficiency survey results

In the study of "Protection and Management of Water Resources: Survey and optimization scheme of household water efficiency", we conducted a survey of household water efficiency [9]. The survey results show that household water is mainly divided into bathing, washing, kitchen and other water use. Among them, bathing and washing are the main source of consumption of domestic water, accounting for more than 60%. Through the investigation, we found that many families waste water, such as opening the faucet for a long time, using old faucets, etc. As for the improvement of household water use efficiency, the survey results show that most households are willing to adopt new water resource management practices, such as installing water-saving sprinkler heads and making regular checks for water leakage. Therefore, we propose a series of optimization programs, such as strengthening water-saving awareness and updating water-saving equipment, to improve the household water efficiency and better protect water resources [10]. Through the analysis of the results of this survey, we can see that there is still a lot of room for the optimization of household water use efficiency. In the future, we will further study and implement relevant programs, and strive to make water use more economical and efficient.

5 Conclusions and Outlook

The improvement of household water use efficiency is of great significance for protecting water resources and achieving sustainable development. By investigating household water use and proposing optimization schemes, waste and overdevelopment can be reduced and water efficiency can be improved. The government should actively promote the formulation and implementation of water resources management regulations, and increase the publicity and education of water use efficiency. Households can reduce their daily water consumption by installing water-saving equipment and optimizing water use habits. Scientific mathematical model and the application of domestic water optimization technology are also important means to improve the efficiency of household water use. The optimization of household water use can not only save water resources, but also help to reduce the pressure of urban water use, ensure water safety, and contribute to the sustainable development of the society. The improvement of household water efficiency needs the joint efforts of the government, enterprises and residents. Every family should start from itself, realize the value of water resources, and take active actions to jointly protect and manage water resources. Through these efforts, we can better realize the rational utilization and protection of water resources, and create a better living environment for the sustainable development in the future.
