- Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Hui Zhao

- Introduction: Prof. Hui Zhao is a vice president of Yangtze University. He has been awarded the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (Category A, formerly the National Outstanding Youth Fund) and the National Excellent Young Scientists Fund, and has received prestigious honors including the Special Government Allowance from the State Council, Bashu Scholar title, the Sun Yueqi Energy Youth Science and Technology Award, and the Hubei May Fourth Youth Medal. He has long been engaged in interdisciplinary research covering oil and gas engineering, computational mathematics and artificial intelligence. He has presided over numerous projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, national major special programs, and key research projects of oilfield enterprises. As the first or corresponding author, he has published more than 100 high-level papers in the fields of petroleum engineering, computational mathematics and artificial intelligence, including 3 ESI highly cited and hot papers. He has authored 4 Chinese and English monographs and holds over 30 authorized patents including 3 international patents. He has won many provincial and ministerial-level awards, such as the First Prize for Technological Invention, the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress, the Second Prize for Natural Science, and the Special Prize for Teaching Achievements. In addition, he serves as a reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a member of the SPE Awards Jury, and an editor for several academic journals.
- Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Yuhui Zhou
- Affiliation: Yangtze University, China
- Introduction: Prof. Yuhui Zhou is a professor and PhD supervisor in oilfield development engineering. His research focuses on oil and gas development theory and methods, intelligent reservoir development and production optimization, numerical simulation, unconventional oil and gas development, and CCUS. He works on integrating advanced modeling and data-driven techniques to improve reservoir performance and operational decision-making, aiming to deliver efficient, reliable, and field-applicable solutions for complex reservoirs and low-carbon energy development.
- Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Xiang Rao
- Affiliation: Yangtze University, China
- Introduction: Xiang Rao is a full professor at the School of Petroleum Engineering, Yangtze University, and a globally recognized top 2% scientist. His research expertise encompasses numerical computing methods, meshless reservoir simulation, quantum computing, unconventional oil and gas reservoir modeling, and intelligent production optimization. Having obtained his B.E. and Ph.D. degrees from China University of Petroleum (Beijing), he has conducted postdoctoral research and served as a visiting professor at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. He leads various national-level initiatives, including National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) programs and sub-tasks of major national science and technology special projects. He has published nearly 70 SCI/EI papers in top-tier academic journals, holds more than 10 invention patents (including U.S. patents), and has been honored with awards such as the CMES Young Researcher Award. Additionally, he acts as an evaluation expert for NSFC, a committee member for SPE awards, and an editor for multiple academic journals.

- Affiliation: Yangtze University, China
- Introduction: Dr. Yunfeng Xu focuses on reservoir engineering and artificial intelligence modeling. His research interests include CO₂-enhanced oil recovery, graph-based surrogate modeling for reservoir dynamics, and intelligent optimization of oilfield development. By integrating data-driven models with physical simulation, his work aims to improve production forecasting accuracy and accelerate decision-making in complex reservoirs.

- Affiliation: CNPC R&D (DIFC) COMPANY LIMITED
- Introduction: Mr. Peng Cao is a Principal Reservoir Engineer, recognized for his distinguished contributions to reservoir engineering and integrated field management. His research expertise encompasses carbonate reservoir development, numerical reservoir simulation, integrated reservoir management, waterflood optimization in giant carbonate reservoirs, and data-driven decision support systems. Having built a career spanning over 15 years in both industry and academic research, he has led multiple strategic national and enterprise-level projects in the areas of reservoir development and digital integration. He has published more than 20 technical papers, holds over 10 authorized invention patents, and has been actively involved in the peer review and editorial processes of several leading industry journals.
- Associate Editor: Dr. Xupeng He
- Affiliation: Saudi Aramco
- Introduction: Xupeng He is a domain specialist (AI & modleing) with EXPEC Advanced Research Center of Saudi Aramco. His research focuses on reservoir modeling for large-scale carbonate reservoirs and developing AI workflows for geoenergy applications. He has authored and coauthored over 30 peer-reviewed journal papers, over 30 conference papers, and 20 granted and filed patents. He has received several awards from different organizations, including the 2023 EXPEC ARC Newcomer Award, 2022 Dean’s Award from KAUST, and was a finalist for the Oil and Gas Middle East Young Professional of the Year Award. He holds MS and PhD degrees in earth science and engineering and energy resources and petroleum engineering, respectively, from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).
- Associate Editor: Dr. Huiru Sun
- Affiliation: Monash University
- Introduction: Dr. Huiru Sun is a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Monash University, Australia, and an Assistant Researcher at the School of Energy and Power Engineering, Dalian University of Technology, China. She received her B.S. in New Energy Science and Engineering from Northeast Agricultural University in 2017 and her Ph.D. in Energy and Environmental Engineering from Dalian University of Technology in 2023. Dr. Sun has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers in international journals such as Applied Energy and Energy. Her research interests focus on advancing fundamental understanding and engineering solutions for natural gas hydrate production, CO2 capture and geological storage, and multiphase flow in porous media, contributing to carbon neutrality and sustainable energy systems. She has coordinated and participated in multiple research projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. She has received several honors, including the First Prize of the Natural Science Award from the Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics, the Wu Zhonghua Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award, and the Dalian Science and Technology Star Award.

- Introduction: Dr. Wentao Zhan focuses on meshless numerical simulation and the quantitative characterization of dynamic connectivity. His research interests cover core meshless numerical algorithms, including the generalized finite difference method (GFDM) and the moving least squares method, as well as their applications in oil–water two-phase flow of water-flooded reservoirs, fractured reservoirs, and anisotropic flow problems. Leveraging the flexibility of meshless point cloud generation and the inherent multi-point scheme advantages of GFDM in numerical simulation and modeling, his methods enable more refined and flexible characterization of complex reservoir geometric features compared with traditional grid-based numerical methods, providing innovative theoretical insights and technical support for high-precision reservoir numerical simulation and dynamic prediction.
