Submission Process

Online Submission and Registration

Authors log in to the official submission system of Macao Scientific Publishers (MOSP), complete real-name registration and their academic profile, select the target journal and article section, and upload the full manuscript, author declaration, ethics approval, funding certificate, and other relevant attachments as prompted by the system, ensuring that all information provided is authentic, accurate, and complete.

Preliminary Review and External Review

Within three working days of submission, the editorial office completes the preliminary review, checking the manuscript format, topical compliance, and academic misconduct. Manuscripts passing the preliminary review proceed to external peer review under a double-blind review system, in which domestic and international experts in the relevant disciplines are invited to conduct professional evaluation; the external review period is 7–15 working days. Manuscripts failing the preliminary review are returned directly, with the specific reasons for revision or rejection indicated.

Revision and Final Review

Based on the external reviewers' comments, authors must complete the manuscript revision and respond to the review comments within the prescribed time limit; failure to do so within the deadline is deemed automatic withdrawal. After revision, the editorial office conducts the final review in light of both the preliminary and external review opinions, focusing on the completeness of revisions, academic quality, and format compliance. Manuscripts passing the final review are accepted and a formal acceptance notice is issued.

Proofreading and Publication

Accepted manuscripts proceed to typesetting and the three-review/three-proofreading process, during which authors are required to cooperate with the editorial office in proofreading the clean proof to confirm the final content is error-free. Upon completion of proofreading, the manuscript is published online first or formally issued according to the journal's schedule, and is simultaneously included for retrieval in the corresponding academic databases.

Basic Submission Requirements

Academic Originality Requirements

Submitted manuscripts must be original work by the authors that has not been previously published. Academic misconduct is strictly prohibited, including simultaneous submission, plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, and improper attribution. The overall similarity rate of a manuscript must be kept within 15%, and the similarity rate of any single paragraph must not exceed 8%. The Publisher will conduct a comprehensive check of all manuscripts through professional academic misconduct detection systems. Once academic misconduct is confirmed, the manuscript is immediately rejected and the authors are placed on the Publisher's blacklist, with any submissions by those authors not accepted for three years.

Content and Topic Requirements

Manuscripts must closely align with the mission of the corresponding journal, focusing on frontier research in the relevant disciplines, applied technological innovation, theoretical analysis, and industry reviews, and possess demonstrable academic, innovative, or applied value. The manuscript must present clear arguments, sufficient evidence, authentic data, rigorous logic, and standardized writing, free of scientific, factual, or logical errors. Low-quality submissions such as popular-science essays, purely subjective reflections, and works lacking empirical evidence or innovation are rejected.

Authorship and Attribution Standards

Authorship must comply with academic publishing norms and is limited to researchers who actually participated in the research design, data collection, manuscript writing, and results review. Arbitrary honorary authorship and the addition or removal of authors are strictly prohibited. After submission and before final review, the author order may not be changed and authors may not be added or removed without authorization. All authors must be informed of and consent to the submission. The corresponding author is responsible for coordinating all submission communication, manuscript revision, and copyright confirmation matters.

Ethical Compliance Requirements

Manuscripts involving human trials, animal experiments, clinical research, or collection of private data must provide the corresponding ethics approval certificates and informed consent forms from participants. Manuscripts involving classified data, patented technology, or collaborative research must provide authorization certificates from the relevant institutions, ensuring that the research content is compliant and lawful and free of copyright, ethical, or privacy disputes.

Manuscript Format Standards

Basic Typesetting Standards

These standards integrate the typesetting standards of core domestic (Chinese) academic journals. All submitted manuscripts must be typeset strictly in a uniform format, written in the standard Word or LaTeX templates, with consistent layout and complete elements throughout. Chinese text should be set in Song typeface (SimSun), and English text and numerals in Times New Roman; the body text uses size 12pt (小四) with 1.5 line spacing and normal margins. Heading levels must be clear and orderly, proceeding from level-one, to level-two, to level-three headings, with standardized and unambiguous hierarchy. The total word count should suit the article type: research papers no fewer than 4,000 words, review papers no fewer than 5,000 words, and short reports and letters no fewer than 2,000 words.

Core Content Elements

Manuscripts must completely include the required modules: title, author information (names, affiliations, city, postal code), abstract, keywords, main text, references, funding project, and author biographies. The title should be concise and precise, no more than 20 characters. The Chinese abstract should be 200–300 characters, covering the four core elements of research purpose, methods, results, and conclusions, with 3–8 keywords. English manuscripts and manuscripts for bilingual journals must also provide properly formatted English abstracts and keywords, following international academic writing conventions.

Figures, Tables, and Formulas

All figures and tables must be clear, high-resolution, and fully labeled. Figure and table numbers are assigned uniformly in the order of their appearance in the text, with concise and standardized captions and notes and accurate data labels. Formulas are numbered uniformly and typeset neatly, with clear definitions of symbols and variables, in line with general disciplinary conventions. Figures and tables must not contain embedded watermarks, resolution should be no lower than 300 dpi, and the layout should suit the journal's publication requirements.

Reference Standards

Following the national GB/T 7714 bibliographic standard, the sequential numbering system (numeric citation) is adopted: references are numbered in the order they are first cited in the text, and the corresponding numbers are marked at the citation points. Priority is given to core domestic and international journals, high-level monographs, and authoritative database literature published within the past five years; citations of open-access academic works and empirically measured data are encouraged. All references must fully list the authors, title, journal name, year, volume, issue, page numbers, DOI, and other information. Fabricated and invalid citations are prohibited; reference management tools such as EndNote and Zotero may be used for uniform formatting.

Publication and Copyright Statement

Copyright Ownership

The copyright of the manuscript remains with the authors. Macao Scientific Publishers (MOSP) is licensed to publish. All papers in this journal are open-access articles distributed under the terms and conditions of the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license.

Publication Fees

The Publisher strictly adheres to compliant fee standards with no hidden or compulsory charges. Only a standard page and editorial processing fee is charged after manuscript acceptance, and the fee schedule is publicly disclosed and can be verified on the official platform. No fees are charged during the preliminary review or external review stages. Authors are advised to beware of fraudulent information.

Withdrawal and Revision Rules

Authors may voluntarily request withdrawal of a manuscript before external review; during the external review and final review stages, withdrawal without justified reason is not permitted. Authors who withdraw maliciously or repeatedly fail to implement required revisions will be placed on the submission blacklist. If later review reveals academic misconduct in an accepted or already published manuscript, the Publisher has the right to retract it unconditionally, issue a retraction notice, and publicize the relevant academic misconduct information.

Indexing and Dissemination Rights

Formally published manuscripts will be automatically included in the academic databases cooperating with the Publisher, supporting public retrieval and academic dissemination and promoting the authors' research achievements. Authors may obtain the electronic sample copy of the journal and publication certificate free of charge for compliant academic purposes such as academic assessment and achievement declaration.
