Situated in Macau, a land where Eastern and Western cultures converge, Macau Science Press, leveraging its unique geographical advantages and profound cultural heritage, has long become an important bridge connecting scientific wisdom from home and abroad. Over the years, we have steadfastly believed that the growth trajectory of young people reflects the future stature of the nation and the people; in their eyes sparkles the boundless potential to drive the progress of our times. Today, Macao Scientific Publishers（MOSP）with professionalism as its wings and responsibility as its sail, is determined to turn its belief in the growth of young people into concrete actions. Our carefully planned youth journals cover a broad range of subjects from fundamental sciences to cutting-edge technologies, inviting top scientists and popular science writers from home and abroad to contribute, using vivid and engaging language to build a ladder of understanding, allowing young readers to engage with the most advanced scientific ideas in the world as they flip through the pages. At the same time, our diverse popular science activities—from exciting scientific experiment workshops, to face-to-face forums with scientists, and to creativity-filled technological innovation competitions—open windows for young people to explore the world.
We look forward to every young mind being able to freely flourish under the nourishment of knowledge and to shine with unique brilliance enlightened by science. Based on a profound practice of the principle "A strong youth leads to a strong nation; a wise youth leads to a wise nation," Macao Science Press officially announced the establishment of the Youth Division and is dedicated to developing the "StrongYouths" brand. This marks a significant milestone in the publisher's commitment to youth development and a steadfast pledge to assist in nurturing young talents who will become pillars of the nation. The "StrongYouths" brand centers on the concept of "strength," referring not only to the robust physical condition of young people but also to their enriched wisdom and resilient will. The Youth Division will serve as a solid support for the brand, integrating the publisher's advantages in international perspectives, professional content, and interactive resources, thereby continuously infusing vitality into the brand. Through more precise content planning, scientific knowledge will be tailored to meet the cognitive needs of adolescents at different age levels, ranging from engaging popular science books to in-depth research exploration guides, comprehensively satisfying their growth aspirations; with richer activity formats, online knowledge dissemination will be closely combined with offline hands-on experiences. For example, the "StrongYouths Science Camp" will allow young people to enter laboratories and research bases, interact closely with scientists, and enhance their scientific literacy through practical experimentation; broader platforms for display will encourage "StrongYouths" to share their scientific discoveries and innovative achievements, ensuring that their voices are heard and their brilliance recognized by more people. “StrongYouths 强国少年” The birth of the brand represents Macao Scientific Publishers' continued dedication and expansion in the cause of youth development. We firmly believe that, guided by this brand, more young people will thrive. III. Platform Development Plan (Four Core Areas)
- Youth Series Journals: Creating youth journals with international influence
Macao Scientific Publishers is committed to establishing its youth journals as internationally influential benchmarks in science, technology, and arts & humanities. In the science and technology section, we focus on global cutting-edge technological trends, collaborate with top international research institutions, and invite scientists to write columns interpreting advancements in fields like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and space exploration, allowing youth to keep pace with technological developments. Simultaneously, we have established the "International Youth Science Dialogue" column, connecting young science enthusiasts from different countries to share their research projects and innovative ideas, fostering cross-cultural scientific exchange. The arts & humanities section integrates diverse cultural perspectives, featuring outstanding literary works, paintings, and music creations from young people worldwide. Through the "World Culture Feature" column, we introduce the customs and art forms of different nations, broadening the cultural horizons of young readers. Furthermore, the journals will adopt a multilingual distribution model. In addition to Chinese and English, versions in Portuguese, Spanish, and other languages will be gradually added. Leveraging channels such as international book fairs and journal alliances, we aim to expand our reach and influence among global youth, becoming a vital window showcasing the scientific, technological, and humanistic achievements of young people worldwide. - Publication of Works: Building an influential youth publishing brand
Centered on the goal of building an influential youth publishing brand, Macao Scientific Publishers will create a diversified publishing system for youth works. The genres will cover scientific research papers, science fiction literature, humanities essays, art collections, etc., meeting the creative and reading needs of diverse young individuals. We will establish strict publishing standards and form an editorial team comprising writers, scholars, and education experts to ensure every work possesses intellectual depth, knowledge, and readability. We will launch the "Youth Original Premium Series" collection, selecting and publishing a group of outstanding works annually, such as the Best Annual Youth Scientific Papers and the Most Creative Science Fiction Anthology. Concurrently, we will build an integrated online and offline distribution network. Online, we will partner with major e-commerce platforms and digital reading platforms. Offline, we will collaborate with chain bookstores and campus bookstores to set up dedicated display areas. By organizing events like author signings and work seminars, we will enhance brand recognition, ensuring youth works are seen and recognized by more people, and helping young creators achieve their publishing dreams. - Youth Speaks: Building a sharing stage for youth exploration, creation, and reflection
The Youth Speaks initiative, centered on "sharing explorations and creations, conveying youthful strength," provides a broad stage for young people to express themselves. We regularly hold the "Youth Explorer Talks" series, covering themes like technological inventions, nature exploration, cultural insights, and personal growth stories. Speakers could be youths who have won awards in science competitions, sharing their invention process and challenges faced; or they could be teenagers who have experienced rural life, narrating their reflections on local culture. The initiative employs an "online collection + offline showcase" model. Online, we solicit speech submissions through short video platforms. Selected outstanding participants will take part in large-scale offline speaking events. Live interactive sessions will allow the audience to engage with the speakers through Q&A, enhancing the impact and dissemination of the talks. Additionally, outstanding speeches will be produced into short video series and audio programs for widespread distribution on social media, radio, and other channels. Through the vivid narratives of the young people themselves, using their genuine experiences and sincere emotions, we aim to inspire more of their peers and ignite their passion for exploration and creation. - Development Fund: Supporting youth science & technology and creative exploration, building an inclusive platform
The Development Fund will primarily focus on funding youth scientific exploration and creative exploration, and strive to build an inclusive science popularization platform. Regarding funding, we will establish the "Youth Science & Technology Innovation Special Fund" to provide financial support for young people's science invention projects and scientific research topics, covering costs such as experimental materials, equipment rental, and expert consultation. For example, providing funding for youth teams' environmental technology projects to help turn their ideas into tangible results. In the field of creative exploration, we will set up the "Youth Creative Incubation Fund" to support young people's innovative practices in literature, art, design, etc., such as funding the rehearsal of an original youth play or the creation of an art installation. In building the inclusive science popularization platform, the fund will be used to purchase popular science books and experimental equipment, donated to schools and communities in remote areas to establish "Science Corner" stations. Simultaneously, we will organize teams of science popularization volunteers to regularly visit remote areas to conduct popular science lectures and experimental demonstrations. Utilizing live streaming technology, we will enable youth in remote areas to participate in international science courses and observe technology competitions, breaking geographical barriers and ensuring every young person has equal development opportunities and can share the joy of science and creation. These four core areas are interconnected and synergistic, forming an organic whole for the youth development cause of Macao Scientific Publishers. The Youth Series Journals provide content support and a dissemination vehicle for the other areas; the excellent youth works published, information on speaking events, and funded cases from the fund featured in the journals can amplify the influence of each domain. Conversely, the high-quality content from publications, highlights from speaking events, and results from funded projects can enrich the journal's content library, enhancing its readability and appeal. The Publication of Works solidifies and extends the creative outcomes of youth; outstanding short works published in journals can be expanded into full-length books, and compelling stories and reflections emerging from speaking events can be transformed into published written works, achieving secondary dissemination of content. Youth Speaks serves as a dynamic presentation format for published works and journal content; through the speakers' narratives, textual content becomes more impactful, attracting more youth to engage with the journals and publications, forming a positive feedback loop. The Development Fund provides solid financial support and resources for the first three areas, funding youth creation and speaking projects, helping them overcome financial difficulties, and enabling their achievements to be showcased through journals, publications, and speeches. In turn, the developmental outcomes of the first three areas—such as excellent works, influential speeches, and high-profile journals—enhance the social recognition and appeal of the Development Fund, aiding its fundraising and sustainable operation.The four core areas are interlinked, jointly propelling Macao Scientific Publishers' youth cause to form a virtuous cycle of "Content Creation -> Showcase & Dissemination -> Financial Support -> Further Creation," comprehensively supporting youth growth and development.
