Empowering Youth Creativity, Etching Growth Milestones —— Youth Works Publication Funding Initiative

I. Core Value Statement

        In an era brimming with knowledge and creativity, the novel ideas of young people are precious treasures. The Youth Works Publication program of Macao Scientific Publishers, guided by the mission of "building a stage for youthful ideas and bringing teenage talent onto the page," is dedicated to uncovering the unique creativity and expressiveness of young individuals, providing them with a professional and high-quality platform for publishing their works. We understand deeply that every essay, every painting, every handmade creation represents a young person's observation of the world, perception of life, and aspiration for the future. Compiling these works into collections not only offers immense encouragement and affirmation to the youth, helping them build confidence, but also uses books as a medium to preserve the memories of our time, allowing society to witness the vibrant energy and boundless potential of the younger generation. Furthermore, leveraging the professional publishing strength and multicultural background of Macao Scientific Publishers, we will endow these works with richer meaning and broader reach, enabling youth creativity to step onto a wider stage.

II. Program Highlights

  • Professional Publishing Quality: Overseen throughout by a seasoned editorial team, from topic selection and content editing to binding design, printing, and distribution, adhering to strict publishing standards and processes to ensure the collections meet professional book quality, creating valuable personal achievement records for young people;
  • Diverse Content Presentation: The program covers multiple fields including literary creation (e.g., poetry, essays, novels, science fiction stories), artistic works (painting, calligraphy, photography), scientific innovation (plans for small inventions, scientific observation reports), and handmade creations (creative models, intangible cultural heritage craft designs), comprehensively showcasing the overall competence and talents of youth;
  • International Perspective Promotion: Utilizing international distribution channels, the published works will be distributed not only domestically but also promoted in the international market, allowing global readers to appreciate the charm of Chinese youth while also providing opportunities for young people to exchange and learn with international peers.;
  • Authoritative Expert Endorsement: Well-known writers, artists, scientists, and education experts are invited to form an advisory team, providing professional comments and guidance for selected works. This enhances the quality of the works while helping young people broaden their horizons and clarify their future development direction.

III. Initiative Plan

(I) Work Collection Phase

  • Target Participants: Open to young people aged 6-18 globally. Submissions are accepted from individuals, as well as collective submissions from schools, educational institutions, and youth activity centers;
  • Submission Period: Currently no time limit; accepts submissions year-round;
  • Content Guidelines: Works must have a positive and healthy theme, possess originality and a degree of innovation. The word count for literary works should be within a reasonable range based on genre, generally not less than 30,000 words. Artworks require high-definition images; handmade creations require accompanying creation descriptions and multi-angle photos. The total number of works should be no less than 60 items for a collection;
  • Format Requirements: Submit manuscripts electronically in unified format. Name files according to the specified format (Name + Work Title + Work Type) and include a brief author bio (name, age, school, contact information, inspiration, etc.);
  • Promotion: Online promotion via the official website, WeChat official account, Weibo, Douyin, and other social media platforms, creating dedicated hashtags to encourage youth to share their creative stories and experiences. Offline collaboration with schools, libraries, youth palaces, and other institutions to hold submission information sessions;

(II) Review and Editing Phase

  • Topic Selection Screening: The publisher's editorial team conducts initial screening of submitted works to determine the shortlist for funding;
  • Expert Review: The advisory team is invited to score and comment on shortlisted works, conducting a comprehensive evaluation based on ideological content, artistic expression, degree of innovation, and other dimensions to determine the funding level;
  • Editing and Production: The editorial team communicates with selected authors to polish, proofread, and typeset the works;

(III) Funding Level

  • Based on the quality of the content, provide 30% to 100% publication funding.
