Abstract
Our goal is to advance agricultural mechanization and scaling, even in mountainous and hilly regions worldwide. This paper presents an innovative approach to optimizing the agricultural production trusteeship mechanism, drawing from field research in Shanxi Province. Specifically, we seek to refine and adapt China’s agricultural trusteeship model for developing countries, particularly those along the Belt and Road, in a context-sensitive manner. By strengthening food security and economic benefits, this model directly contributes to No Poverty and Zero Hunger. Using China as a case study, we first examine the evolution of agricultural scaling operations, analyzing both its necessity and existing challenges. We then propose a organized trusteeship model based on field studies in Shanxi Province. Finally, we evaluate the feasibility of implementing this model globally in regions facing poverty and food insecurity.
